College Commitments

Vermont's class of 2011 may not have been the deepest in recent years, but there certainly was not a lack of talent among the states top upperclassmen. Here are some of the most recent commitments by some of Vermont's top seniors. Its nice to see that many of them will continue to hoop once they leave the high school ranks.
Just to name a few...

Evan Tullar          6'4"  SF  Spaulding - Norwich University
Alex Snyder        6'8"  C    Rutland - Vassar
Ben Ferris           6'2" SG   Essex - Tufts
Jake Donnelly     6'2"  PG  CVU - Taft (post grad year)
Ryan Shea          6'1"  SG   U32 - Vassar
Austin Robinson  6'2"  SG  Rice - Berkshire Prep
Connor Merrill    6'5"  SF   VT Academy - Springfield/Skidmore

It has been rumored that Rutlands star point guard Troy Davine will also look to spend a pg year, similar to Donnelly and Robinson. Vermont Academy as well as Kimball Union has been mentioned. Davine is also a standout on the football field, starting at quarterback for the Red Raiders football program.
Mt. Anthony's 6'8" Big man Clayton Palmer has also been mentioned as a senior looking for a year of prep school as well, before he makes his jump to the college ranks.

It was also noted in today's Burlington Free Press that former BHS Star Joe O'shea will be transferring from Holy Cross to Bryant next fall to play under his uncle Tim O'shea. O'shea only saw 20 minutes of court time in his freshman year at Holy Cross under first year coach Milan Brown. Sean Kearny who is the former coach at HC is actually who recruited Joe. It makes sense to me for the transfer. Joe was talented enough to compete in the Patriot league. Maybe not play significant minutes during his rookie season, but certainly more then what he did. O'shea should see time in the NEC with the Bulldogs.

Where some other former VT's Hoopers are now running the court...
